Police Remind Parents to Speak to Children About Strangers and Personal Safety During Back-To-School Season
The Windsor Police Service is currently investigating a report of a suspicious person. A female youth has reported a concerning interactions between her and an adult male.
The youth reported that an adult male suspect approached her in the 1100 block of California Avenue in late August. Due to the topic of the conversation with the male, she felt the male targeted her to speak with and has seen her in the past. The male also provided the female hand drawn pictures that resembled her.
We would like to remind parents to speak with their children about talking to and interacting with strangers. Children should always travel in pairs, travel in well lit and high traffic areas, know how to call 911 in an emergency and always be encouraged to report suspicious behaviour to a trusted adult immediately.
The Major Crime Branch is investigating this incident to determine if there was any criminal intent.
