STOP THE CRIME OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING

January is Crime Stoppers month, and our theme is year is “Stop the Crime of Human Trafficking”.

Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery that involves controlling a person through force, fraud or coercion to exploit the victim. Traffickers may recruit, harbor, or transport a victim in order to exploit them for labor, sexual exploitation or both.

A problem we all face right now is a general lack of knowledge about the issue of human trafficking and its presence in our communities. We hope to be able to change that.

Windsor and Essex County Crime Stoppers is committed to helping increase awareness of this growing issue in order to decrease, if not eventually eliminate, this illegal activity.
