OPP SEEK WITNESS TO HIGHWAY 3 CRASH

On Saturday March 7, 2020 at approximately 2:45 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Service (EMS) and Tecumseh Fire Rescue Service responded to a two motor vehicle injury collision on Highway 3 in Tecumseh.

The collision occurred in the westbound lanes of Highway 3 west of County Road 11 (Walker Road).  A black four door vehicle with a driver and one passenger stopped in a live traffic lane for an unknown reason. 

Approximately 10 minutes later, a minivan, maroon in colour with a driver and 6 passengers struck the rear of the stopped vehicle at a high rate of speed. 

The collision resulted in multiple injuries ranging from minor to non-life threatening.

Prior to the collision, another motor vehicle stopped next to the black vehicle and appeared to have a brief conversation with the driver before driving off. 

The OPP wish to speak with the driver of that vehicle to determine if they can provide details to assist with the investigation.

STOLEN BACKHOE USED IN THEFT OF WIRE

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating the theft of a backhoe from a jobsite in Leamington that was later used in a break-in to a fenced compound in Lakeshore where a large spool of wire was stolen.

Sometime overnight March 7th to March 8th, a 2003 John Deere 310SG backhoe was removed by an unknown suspect(s) from a jobsite on Mersea Road 6.

On March 9, 2020 at approximately 4:30 a.m., the same backhoe was used in a break-in to a fenced compound on Lakeshore Road 125.

Surveillance video captured an individual using the backhoe to pull a large spool of wire cable through the fence and then remove it from the scene.

A photo of the suspect inside the fenced compound and a photo of the stolen backhoe are attached.

The OPP requests that anyone having knowledge of these crimes, contact the Essex County Major Crime Unit at 519-723-2491.

Police Seek Public Input to Identify Break and Enter Suspect

Windsor Police is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for Break and Enter and Theft.

On Thursday, February 13, 2020 Windsor Police Service officers responded to a break in at a residence located in the 800 block of Campbell Avenue

During the daytime hours, the suspect entered the residence, proceeded to steal a quantity of electronics, and then fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a male white, medium build, wearing a black jacket, pants and toque. He was also wearing orange Asics running shoes with white trim.

KNIFEPOINT PHARMACY ROBBERY

On Thursday February 13, 2020 at 5:30 pm patrol officers responded to a report of a robbery just occurred at a pharmacy located in the 5000 block of Wyandotte Street East.

Investigation revealed that a lone suspect entered the pharmacy, brandished a knife and demanded staff place drugs from the pharmacy into a black duffle bag.


The Major Crime Branch continues to investigate this robbery


Through investigation, surveillance photos of the suspect have been obtained.

The suspect is described as a male white with a deep voice, approximately 5'6, approximately 130-140, slender build, wearing a dark coloured jacket, dark pants, dark toque with hoodie pulled up, dark sunglasses, dark gloves, and a dark bandanna covering his face.


The weapon used was not recovered. The suspect is to be considered ARMED and DANGEROUS. Do NOT approach.

Windsor Police Requesting the Public's Assistance in Identifying 2 Suspects for a Pharmacy Robbery

On Tuesday February 11, 2020, at approximately 11:25 am, patrol officers responded to the 2900 block of Dougall Avenue in relation to an armed robbery that had just occurred at a pharmacy. 

Through investigation, it was learned that two male suspects arrived at the pharmacy on foot, entered the business and demanded prescription medication and money. One of the suspects was in possession of a black handgun at the time of the robbery.

A quantity of prescription narcotics and Canadian currency was taken during the incident.

The suspects fled the area on foot at approximately 11:28 am, last seen westbound on Dougall Avenue prior to police arrival.

Suspect #1 is described as a male white, 5'6 - 5'8, medium build, wearing a black sweatshirt, grey gloves, grey mask with a white design on the mask, blue jeans, a white strap hanging out of a back pocket, white shoes with a black stripe on the heel.  This suspect was armed with a black handgun.

Suspect #2 is described as a male white, 5'6 - 5'8, medium build, wearing a black sweatshirt with "NBA" on the back neck area, a black mask with a white logo, white t-shirt under the sweater, dark pants, and black
shoes. 

The Windsor Police Service Major Crime Branch is actively investigating the robbery.  They are looking for
any information in relation to the incident and seeking the public's assistance in helping to identify the suspects.

The suspects are considered to be ARMED & DANGEROUS. The public in reminded to never approach a suspect and to call 911 immediately.

OPP Looking for Public's Assistance in Relation to a Break and Enter in Tecumseh

The OPP Property Crime Unit is looking for the public’s assistance in identifying a male and female responsible for breaking into an apartment building in the 11000 block of Tecumseh Road, in the Town of Tecumseh.

This occurred on January 13th.  A male and female entered the apartment building and several items were taken from the maintenance room area. 

The parties are described as follows:

Female:  White female in her early 30’s.  She has blonde hair. She wore a black hoodie and a ¾ length white winter coat and black gloves.  She carried a black, large oversized shoulder purse.

Male: White male in his 20’s.  He was wearing a black puffy coat, black hoodie and gloves.

Over $1,400.00 worth of items were taken.

Windsor Police Service Major Crimes Unit Are Investigating A Report of Shots Fired on February 2, 2020

Windsor Police Service Major Crime Unit is investigating a report of shots fired in the area of the 2900 block of Walker Road on Sunday, February 2nd, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Police initially were advised that a white Chrysler Pacifica had gun shot damage to it.  It was parked and unoccupied at the time of the incident.

A second call was dispatched concerning a red Mazda that had what is believed to be a bullet hole.  Through investigation, the driver of the Mazda is believed to have been travelling in the area of Walker Road where the first incident occurred.

The above two incidents are believed to be related.  It is unknown at this time which vehicle, if either, was the target of the incident. 

The Major Crime Unit is continuing to investigate and is seeking any information with respect to these incidents. 

If you saw or heard anything in relation to these incidents, police are asking that you contact police.  Also, if you have any video surveillance in the area during the above time frame, police are encouraging people to check recordings and report any findings to police.

Windsor Police Investigate Knifepoint Robbery

The Major Crime Branch is seeking assistance in identifying a suspect in relation to a knifepoint robbery investigation.

On Friday January 31, 2020 at approximately 11:30 pm, patrol officers responded to a business located the 1000 block of Lauzon Road for a report of a robbery. It was reported that a male suspect entered the restaurant, brandished a knife, and demanded money from an employee. The suspect took a quantity of Canadian currency and fled the store on foot.

No injuries were reported in relation to the robbery.

The Forensic Identification Unit attended and processed the scene.

The suspect is described as a male white, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a black hoody, a dark coloured mask over his face, a greyish plaid jacket and jeans.
