MARCH IS FRAUD PREVENTION MONTH

March is Fraud Prevention Month and police are asking residents to talk about frauds with family, friends, neighbours, coworkers and seniors.

Here are a few simple tips:

·       Never give your personal information over the phone or computer.

·       Never tell anyone passwords.

·       Do not purchase any type of gift card at the direction of strangers and do not share the pin# with anyone.

·       The police will never direct you to withdraw money or threaten you with arrest.

Please visit www.antifraudcentre.ca to get more information.

Your conversation could save a loved one thousands of dollars.
