OPP ESSEX COUNTY STREET CRIME UNIT IS LOOKING FOR INFORMATION IN RELATION TO THEFT OF TIRES

Sometime between Friday, July 31st and Tuesday, August 4th, unknown person(s) entered a business on Patillo Road and stole 3 sets of expensive tires and rims as follows:

Black 18” magnetic metalic rims w/ 275/65R18 rubber.

Factory tires from a 2020 Ford Expedition (1 set) Aluminum 17” rims with Goodyear Wrangler LT275/70R18 Kevlar tires.

Factory tires from two 2020 Ford F350 trucks (2 sets).

ESSEX OPP INVESTIGATING COUNTERFEIT $100 USD BILLS

Essex OPP were dispatched to two occurrences of a male using counterfeit $100 USD bills in the Town of Essex, on July 26th.

The suspect was operating a smaller, older model, either car or SUV. He was wearing a black “Titleist” hat. Please see the photo below of the suspect.

ROBBERY SUSPECTS SOUGHT BY OPP IN CONVENIENT STORE ROBBERY - LEAMINGTON

On August 3, 2020 at approximately 4:30 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a robbery at a business in the 100 block of Erie Street South, Leamington, Ontario

Two masked suspects, both described as being approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall with one suspect brandishing a hand gun entered the store and demanded money from the store clerk. 

The suspects fled on foot in a south east direction with a package of cigarettes and a small quantity of cash.

ROBBERY in LEAMINGTON

 On Friday July 24 at approximately 05:35 a.m., Leamington OPP responded to a Robbery on Mersea Road D in Leamington,.

An alarm was received at approximately 02:40 a.m. where the victims checked the property with negative results.

At approximately 05:00 a.m. the alarm went off again. The victims went to check the property for the second time and were met by two masked men with pistols

The suspects subsequently stole an undisclosed quantity of marijuana and fled the scene.

Suspect #1 is described as: a white male, with a thin build, approximately 6’0” and carrying a shiny pistol

Suspect #2 is described as: a white male with medium build, approximately 5’8” and carrying a dark pistol

Armed Robbery Investigation

On Wednesday July 1, 2020, at approximately 1:30 am, patrol officers responded to a business located in the 7800 block of Tecumseh Road East for a report of a robbery that had just occurred.

Investigation revealed that a suspect entered the store and brandished a knife while demanding items from an employee. The suspect stole a quantity of items and fled the scene on foot.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as a male white, 20-25 years, 6'0", slim build, wearing grey jogging pants, a black hooded sweater, black "Nike" running shoes with the trademark swoosh in white and a blue surgical mask.

The Major Crime Branch continues to actively investigate this incident.

VANDALISM TO THE ONTARIO POLICE MEMORIAL MONUMENT

On Saturday, June 20, 2020, at approximately 7:50pm, members of the Ontario Provincial Police - Queen’s Park detachment discovered that the Ontario Police Memorial Monument, which honours fallen officers, had been defaced with red spray paint.

A review of security cameras identified a female of interest, pictured below, near the location just prior to the offence.

Windsor Police Seek to Identify Suspect in Theft/Fraud Investigation

On Thursday July 2, Windsor Police responded for a theft report at a business located in the 4700 block of Wyandotte Street East.

Video surveillance footage showed an unknown male entering the store and leaving with the wallet at approximately 4:00 p.m.

The suspect attended other businesses after the theft and used the victim's credit card to make purchases.

The suspect is described as a male white, early 20's, medium height and build, wearing a black hat with a red Toronto Raptors logo, a t-shirt with the words Calvin Klein Jeans on the front, black shorts and red/black running shoes

Windsor Police Seeking Information Concerning an Arson on Crawford

On Sunday June 21, 2020, at approximately 1:30 am, patrol officers responded to a business located in the 1000 block of Crawford Avenue for a report of a vehicle fire.

Officers attended the scene and located a vehicle with severe fire damage.  The fire had been put out by emergency services personnel prior to police arrival.

Through investigation, it was determined that an unknown suspect intentionally set the fire and an arson investigation was launched.

No injuries were reported in relation to the incident.

Members of the Arson Unit continue to actively investigate and are seeking any information in relation to the incident.
