Windsor Police Seek the Public's Assistance in Identifying a Robbery Suspect

On Sunday October 11, 2020, at approximately 4:20 am, patrol officers attended a convenience store in the 4600 block of Seminole Street for a robbery that had just occurred.

It was reported that a male entered the store and brandished a firearm, demanding money. A quantity of currency and other items were taken by the suspect who then fled westbound on Seminole Street on a bicycle.

The suspect is described as a male white, approximately 30 years, wearing a dark sweater, dark pants and a bandana over his face. He was in possession of what was described as a black pistol, a black and red duffle bag and a backpack with a black and white patterned top and solid light blue bottom.

No firearm has been recovered. The suspect is to be considered ARMED and DANGEROUS. Do not approach the suspect and call 9-1-1 if seen.

The Major Crime Branch continues to investigate this case.

Armed Robbery Investigation -Windsor

On Monday October 5, 2020, at approximately 10:45 am, patrol officers responded to a pharmacy in the 1700 block of Wyandotte Street East for a report of a robbery in progress.

It was reported a male suspect entered the pharmacy with a firearm demanding prescription drugs. The suspect also assaulted two employees during the incident, both receiving non-life-threatening injuries as a result.

A quantity of prescription drugs were taken and the suspect fled the area on foot, last seen running southbound on Windermere Road.

The suspect is described as a male black, approximately 23 years old, 5'6" - 5'7", slim build, brown hair, brown eyes and scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a mask covering his mouth and nose, a dark hooded sweater, dark jeans (grey or black), black shoes and was wearing dark gloves.

The Forensic Identification Unit attended and processed the scene.

The Major Crime Branch is continuing to investigate and is seeking any information in relation to the incident. They are also requesting anyone in the area to check video surveillance systems to see if the suspect may have been captured before or after the incident. If you were driving near the area at the time of the incident and have dash cam video, detectives are also requesting motorists review for possible evidence.

The suspect spent an unknown amount of time around the area prior to the incident and is believed to have attended the pharmacy walking northbound on Windermere Road, although it is unknown if the suspect arrived in the area on foot or in a vehicle.

WINDSOR POLICE INVESTIGAGING SHOTS FIRED ON MCDOUGALL

On Sunday, October 4th at approximately 4:15 p.m., Windsor Police responded to shots fired in the 2400 block of McDougall.

Two males were observed to be in possession of firearms and at least one of the suspects fired shots directly at a victim.  A second male victim was located inside a residence with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspects are described as males, 6'0" - 6'5", wearing black hooded sweaters, black pants and masks that pulled up from the neck. One male had red trim around the hood of the sweater and one was wearing a backpack.

Investigators are looking for any home or dash-cam surveillance video that may have captured the suspects.

OPP SEEKING TO IDENTIFY SUSPECT INVOLVED IN BREAK AND ENTER IN KINGSVILLE

On Sunday, October 4th at approximately 8:30 a.m. a break and enter occurred at a business in the 200 Block of Main Street East in the Town of Kingsville.

There was one male suspect involved.  He is described as a Caucasian male, wearing black pants, a black jacket, a black and white hat with the words “New York” on the front.  He was wearing black runners with white stripes.  The male also has a mustache and possible goatee.  He has average build.

Vehicle Seized in Shots Fired Investigation

The Windsor Police Service Major Crime Branch is investigating and seeking any information in relation to a shots fired incident.

On Thursday September 24, 2020, at approximately 6:30 am patrol officers responded to the 1200 block of High Street for a report of shots fired.

It was reported that a suspicious male was observed in a backyard attempting to commit a theft. A neighbour intervened and the male fled the area in a black Chrysler Intrepid. The same male then returned to the area a short time later in the Intrepid and fired shots.

No injuries were reported as a result of the shots being fired. 

Damage to a residence was located and believed to be caused by the gunfire.

The Forensic Identification Unit attended and processed the scene.

The suspect is described as a male white, 35-40 years old, approximately 6'0" and approximately 200 lbs.

The black Intrepid being driven at the time was reported to have one dealer plate affixed to it, meaning the letters and numbers were red in colour.

On Monday September 28, patrol officers located an Intrepid, believed to be the suspect vehicle, in the 3900 block of Wyandotte Street East. The vehicle was subsequently seized as evidence.

The Major Crime Branch continues to actively investigate.

Police Seek Identity of Suspects in Amherstburg Break & Enter

The Windsor Police Service-Amherstburg Detachment is actively investigating a break and enter to a commercial business.

On Tuesday September 15, 2020 patrol officers attended a restaurant located in the 200 block of Dalhousie Street after staff discovered items missing from the business.

Investigation determined that entry had been gained by force through a window to the building.

Officers were able to determine that two suspects were involved in the crime. It is believed that the incident occurred around 5:00 AM on Tuesday, September 15, 2020.

The below two suspect images were captured on surveillance video.

Suspect #1 was wearing a face mask, while the face of suspect #2 can be seen in the surveillance video image.

Investigators are hoping a member of the community may be able to assist in identifying the suspects.

OPP SEEKING TO IDENTIFY SUSPECTS INVOLVED IN AN INDECENT ACT IN CONSERVATION AREA

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking witnesses in relation to an incident that occurred on September 10, 2020 on Talbot Road East in Leamington.

The OPP received a complaint from an individual indicating that at approximately 6:00 p.m., they were walking on a pathway in a local Conservation Area when approached by two male suspects. One suspect initiated an inappropriate conversation with the victim and then reached out and touched the victim inappropriately.

The involved suspect is described as:

  • Male, of Hispanic or Columbian descent, approximately 23-25-years-old

  • Approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall with a medium build

  • Short dark hair, olive skin

  • Wearing a white baseball hat, pink polo shirt and blue jeans

  • Spoke with an accent

The second suspect was described as a younger white male with longer brown hair.

The two suspects were believed to have arrived at the location on bicycles.

The OPP asks that anyone with information regarding this incident or whom could help identify these individuals, contact the Leamington Detachment Crime Unit at 519-326-2544.

Police Remind Parents to Speak to Children About Strangers and Personal Safety During Back-To-School Season

The Windsor Police Service is currently investigating a report of a suspicious person. A female youth has reported a concerning interactions between her and an adult male. 

The youth reported that an adult male suspect approached her in the 1100 block of California Avenue in late August. Due to the topic of the conversation with the male, she felt the male targeted her to speak with and has seen her in the past. The male also provided the female hand drawn pictures that resembled her.  

We would like to remind parents to speak with their children about talking to and interacting with strangers. Children should always travel in pairs, travel in well lit and high traffic areas, know how to call 911 in an emergency and always be encouraged to report suspicious behaviour to a trusted adult immediately.  

The Major Crime Branch is investigating this incident to determine if there was any criminal intent.
