Windsor Police Request Assistance in Identifying Break and Enter Suspect

On Tuesday May 5, 2020, at approximately 6:30 am, patrol officers responded to an auto repair shop located in the 500 block of Eugenie Avenue for a report that a garage door appeared insecure and damaged.

Officers arrived and observed the garage door to have significant damage and observed other damage to the business. 

Through investigation, officers confirmed that a break and enter had occurred and a vehicle was stolen.  The stolen vehicle, a red Dodge Charger, was driven through the garage door causing the damage. 

The break and enter is believed to have occurred at approximately 6:15 am and the suspect may have been loitering in the area prior to the incident.

The suspect is described as wearing a white hooded sweater, tan pants, black running shoes and a green and black backpack.  The suspect fled the area in the stolen red Charger which had the spoiler ripped off during the incident.

At approximately 12:30 pm, the Charger was located unoccupied by patrol officers in the area of Wyandotte Street East and Marion Avenue. 

The Property Crimes Unit continues to actively investigate this incident and is seeking assistance in identifying the below pictured suspect.  Anyone who may have seen the damaged stolen Charger being driven between approximately 6:15 am and 12:30 pm is also encouraged to phone police.

Windsor Police Major Crime Branch Investigates Stabbing

The Windsor Police Service Major Crime Branch is actively investigating a report of a stabbing over the weekend.

On Sunday May 3, 2020 at approximately 10:30 PM patrol officers responded to the 2200 block of Howard Avenue for a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival officers located an adult male who was suffering from an apparent stab wound. The injured male originally was uncooperative with officers when asked how the injury occurred.

The injured male was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The scene was contained and an investigation was launched.

Further information was received that the incident may have taken place at the rear of a business located in the 200 block of Tecumseh Road East.

That area was contained as a possible crime scene as well.

Officers canvassed the involved locations for possible witnesses / video surveillance footage.

The matter remains under active investigation.

OPP INVESTIGATING THEFT OF VEHICLE PERMITS

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a break and enter that occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday, April 12, 2020.

An Essex County branch of Service Ontario was entered sometime overnight by unknown suspects.

Two Ontario licence plates and approximately 600 assorted validation stickers were stolen. The validation stickers include those with expiration dates in February and June through December 2021 as well as January through May 2022. Also taken were a number of temporary validation stickers.

In addition, visitor handicap permits that are unique and rarely issued due to their limited and specific use were stolen. Most notably, these permits designate VISITOR in bold red lettering and will be missing an expiry date and permit holder name and address on the reverse.

OPP SEEK PUBLICS ASSISTANCE IN IDENTIFYING SUSPICIOUS MALE

April 27, 2020 at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a suspicious person on Lakeshore Road 209.

The complainant, while walking his dogs, reports confronting a naked man on the walking path in the Lakeshore Conservation area. Words were exchanged and the complainant returned to the parking lot where he again saw the suspect, now dressed and leaving in a vehicle. The suspect allegedly displayed a weapon to
the complainant before leaving the area.

The suspect is described as male, white, approximately 30-years-old, 160 pounds, clean shaven and having numerous tattoos. He was wearing camouflaged shorts, a green tank top and ball cap when observed leaving the area.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a green Toyota or Honda sedan, 4-door, with blue license plates starting with CMEH. The vehicle had a "Realtree" brand sticker of a deer's head and antlers centered on the rear window.

Police Look to Identify Suspect in Attempt Purse Grabbing

On Sunday April 5, 2020 at approximately 9:00 a.m., Windsor Police patrol officers were dispatched to the 9400 block of Little River Road for a robbery just occurred.

Officers spoke to an adult female who stated that she was walking along a trail near the Little River Pollution Control Plant.  As she was walking a male suspect approached her from behind and attempted to grab her purse.  The female was able to fend him off and he quickly ran from the area.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have video surveillance cameras in the area to review the footage and contact police if it contains any suspect information.

The Major Crimes Branch is actively investigating.  Please review the below description and call with any information.

Suspect described as:

Male white, approx 30 yrs old, 5'9, brown eyes and medium build.  He was last seen wearing black jogging pants, black jacket, black touque, black scarf covering his face and black gloves.

OPP INVESTIGATING THEFT OF TRAILER IN THE TOWN OF ESSEX

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is asking the public for assistance in identifying a suspect and vehicle involved in a recent theft in Essex. 

On March 31, 2020, between 12:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m., surveillance footage captured a suspect removing a trailer from a commercial property in the 300 block of Talbot Street North. 

The trailer is described as black, 5 feet by 10 feet with a ramp style gate and aftermarket diamond plate installed on the sides.

The suspect vehicle appears to be an older model Ford Fusion or similar.

Major Crime Branch Assault Investigation

On Friday March 13, 2020, at approximately 11:30 pm, Windsor Police patrol officers responded to the area of Tecumseh Road East and Howard Avenue for a report of an injured person.

Upon arrival, officers located a male youth with injuries who appeared to have been assaulted.  The youth was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  

Through investigation, it is believed an assault against the youth occurred at a residence in the 2200 block of Howard Avenue.   

More than one suspect is believed to be involved in the assault of the youth.

The Major Crime Branch continues to investigate and is seeking any information in relation to this incident and the identities of the suspects.

WPS Property Crimes Unit Seeking Information in Relation to Break and Enters

The Windsor Police Service Property Crimes Unit is looking for any information in relation to two residential break and enter incidents.

The first incident occurred on December 28, 2019, at approximately 7:30 pm in the 1000 block of Stoneybrook Crescent.

The second incident occurred on January 3, 2020, at approximately 6:30 pm in the 5700 block of Riverside Drive East.

Through investigation, a surveillance photo of the suspect has been obtained and it is believed the same person was involved in both incidents.

Several items were taken during both incidents.

The suspect is believed to be a male white, slim to medium build, wearing a grey hooded sweater, blue jeans, and a dark coloured "North Face" jacket.

The Property Crimes Unit continues to investigate these incidents and are looking for any information that may help identify the suspect.  We would also like to remind the public to always report any suspicious behaviour to police.  It is believed this suspect may have been in the area of one incident for approximately 30 minutes prior to breaking into the residence.
